flute

you know, i never would have pegged myself as a bit flute fan but there you have it, i am. i was thinking about it on my busride in to work this morning. two of the acts that really got me into it are roland kirk and jethro tull. jethro tull is just classic. to get started you could go with the classic aqualung. that was my first experience with tull. i used to spin my dad’s copy of that record over and over when i was little. now i own that very copy. it feels good to see it spinning on the ol’ record player. with roland i think my favorite is the inflated tear. i have it on vinyl as well. there’s just something soothing about a record going around and around and if it has the flute as a prominant voice, all the better.
