it occured to me, i’m actually pursuing my dream

i started this blog way back when i went to work for my dad in new mexico. remember? while i was working for him, i was pulling cables, setting up some network stuff, putting plates on wall jacks, that kind of thing. it was fun but i didn’t want to just do the wire pulling. i missed the computer work. i missed throwing together the occasional database or webpage. i remember telling people that what i really wished i could do would be to do the wire pulling like 2 days a week and do the programming side of things on the other 3. that would be my dream job, i said.
last night ryan and i finished a small networking project for the down syndrome association of mn. on my way to work this morning it occured to me. quite literally, i’m pursuing my dreams. i’m doing just what i said would be my dream. and moreover, it appears to be working. how did i get so lucky?
