starting the day right

as i start the workday for saturday, i am thinking of my new favorite toast.
“Za uspiekh nashevo beznadiozhnovo diela”when translated,
“To the success of our hopeless task”it’s funny and it’s true all rolled together, as usual.
i’m sitting in el gato azul, a coffee shop by my house and i’m thinking, as i have of late, i really need to get off my ass and learn spanish. i admit that partially i keep writing about it as a way of stoking myself up. i’ve been talking about it for years and every so often i get all excited all over again. i need to take classes or get a tutor or both. i’m hoping that when my friend mandy moves to town she’ll get me talking in spanish in no time. hopefully living in the neighborhood that i do, just off of cesar chaves street in the district del sol, will help.
