wel, wel, welcome to the working week . . .

well, i’m back. hawaii was great. it was warm there. really warm. well in the 70s each day and for me, with a blue sky and a nice breeze, well i’ll call that heaven. i’m sure i’ll be using hawaii pics for my pic of the day for a while so keep checking that. oh, i suppose i’ll put some wedding shots up there too. i have such a back log of photos to work on that i have to make myself stop shooting for a while, perhaps.
anyway, yeah hawaii was great. we did a lot and still found time to relax on the beach and read stupid spy novels. we went to a coffee plantation called kauai coffee that was excellent. i didn’t know much about how coffee is produced and now i’m proud to say that i can tell you a little. . . .heh. not a lot though. it was pretty neat to see real coffee trees though. i might try to grow one in the house as we bought some magic beans. we went to kauai sea tours and saw the napali coast and whales. whales are big, really big. we got to go snorkeling off the boat too. i didn’t know if i’d like it because i’m a sucky swimmer but it was great. salt water makes you float! i hope some of those pics come out.
while still on oahu, we went swimming at waikiki beach and had a maitai at the pink lady or elephant or whatever. . . that big pink hotel on the beach. we got to see my second cousin, nancy, and her husband lyle. they were good enough to not only pick us up at the airport but also take us out for japanese food. nice folks. we saw becky’s friend, yoko honda, who in addition to having a really sweet name, is really cool and i’m glad i got to meet her. she gives tours of the islands to japanese folks. she showed us a famous blowhole. she took us to a good little hole in the wall that served plate dinners and we had laulau and kalua pork with poi. click on the poi link, it’s um . . interesting stuff.
anyway, we had a great time, saw lots of cool people and spent some nice quality time together after all the hoopla of the wedding. thanks again to everyone for coming. we had an awesome time and hope you did too!
