a memory

on my walk in to the office from the bus i saw a man and a woman drinking coffee. the woman was just finishing peeling a banana. she peeled the entire peel off of the banana before eating it. the man was sitting on her right. her sweater had ridden up just a bit to reveal her lower back. the man was idly tracing a patter on her exposed skin.
i’ve no idea why but for some reason this scene made me think of a cafe i ate at while i was in brussels. it was in the lobby of the hotel i stayed in, hotel novotel. it wasn’t a particularly great cafe. the food was good but in my opinion a little over priced. still, i did have a couple of good meals there. not sure why the memory came to me but it did.
