20080818 - go live! strawberry fanta

today is “go live” for the project that i’m on. it’s pretty exciting. i’ve been on the project for 11 months exactly. everything is on and running. so i thought an appropriately exciting picture should be the photo of the day. and there you have it folks, strawberry fanta! you can’t get that just anywhere. you can get it at chris and rob’s, a chicago eatery. . . which means they got good dogs and beef sandwiches. (sadly, i must admit that the “sport” peppers gave me a bit of a tummy ache though. . .. i am getting old).
anyway, should be a good week this week. just two short days at work and then i’m off to the bwca. i can’t wait for that feeling of a canoe sliding into cool, silent morning waters. . . it’s a calm peaceful place and i could use some calm and peace in my life.
i managed to get just about everything in my pack last night. there are a few things that one of the other guys will need to put in his pack but i figure since i got the tent, stove, a lot of the food, etc. that’s not too bad. the pack is fit to burst as it is and i don’t think i like the order of how it’s packed so i think i’ll take it all apart tonight and repack it. at least i know it should fit.
so, as of wednesday i’ll be gone, absent from these pages. i am bringing a little book so maybe if i come up with something profound or funny, i’ll type it up when i get back.
anyway, welcome to monday folks. here’s to hoping for a good one and a quiet “go live” for my project.
