20080927 – first color of the season and the debates

here is the first color on my street. not the best photo since it’s from my phone but still pretty. these trees along Hall St. here are some of my favorites every year.
on to other notes. the debates. watched the presidential debates last night. from what i can see, many of the pundits are saying either it was too close to call. however, when you look at the polls, you see how the people, the voters, are leaning. more are leaning towards obama. i’m daring to get excited.
for me, this is what i come down to. when i look at both of them up there, i want the one who i can trust to go talk to foreign countries. i want the one that will remain calm and look at the whole situation, rather than just jump in. when you have the entire country depending on you, you need to sit back and think about things, you need to come across as a little more scholarly. for eight years now we’ve had a president that is more like “just a regular guy,” “someone you could have a beer with,” and look where it has gotten us. you hear the spin from the other side that the “liberals think they’re better than you.” i specifically want a president that is better than me. i want one that is smarter than i am. more level headed. that is exactly what i want.
i watched the debates last night and i got all fired up. i’m excited and nervous. this election will be a pivotal point in our history. there is just so much coming to a head right now.
