20081030 – christopher likes cheerios

christopher likes cheerios and maybe it’s just that he has new teeth but he eats them very thoughtfully and methodically.
so i’ve been a little neglectful with my blog lately. i apologize. i’ve been delivering training at work all week and when that happens i need to be kind of focused in on it.
the other reason is that i bought a new toy that i’ve been playing with a bit. it’s been a while since i bought a frivolous toy. i like to think that i’ve grown out of my gadget freak stage… well as much as any guy from my generation does anyway. so, why a new toy now? i blame oprah. she gave everyone a $50 off coupon for a kindle.
so, i know own an ebook reader. i love reading and let me be clear. i love books. i love the feel of the paper and i love having a bookshelf full of them. however, i’m trying to cut down on clutter. i want less stuff in my life (i know, i know then why did i buy something new?). so, i’m looking to condence my library.
and though it doesn’t have the same feel, it really does pretty much look like a printed page. on that regard, i’m definitely happy and impressed. when it comes to interface, it does leave a little to be desired. it has a 1990′s feel to some of it but it is a first gen device and i’m willing to help support the cause. another benefit so far is that i’m more interested in reading again. with winter coming, i find that anything that gets me away from the tv is a good thing.
now, in the same effort to condence, i think it’s tme to cut back on my music as well. i think i’ll hold on to the vinyl but since the CDs are digital aready and most of them are already on my hard drive. . . .
