gearing up for movember
Posted on October 31, 2009 - Filed Under picture of the day
a group of guys at work are participating in movember this year and i joined up. it is a fundraiser for prostate and testicular cancer. i shaved off the beard last night and documented various stages and types of ‘staches i could grow. it is a weird feeling to see my chin after 6 years. also, as i walked outside this morning, i noticed a few snowflakes lazily drifting to the ground. all i could think was, “damn, my face is cold.”
anyway, here are the various stages of shaving. hilarity ensues.
first, we have what normal looks like.

next, we have what i’m calling stage one. probably the most fun but i’m not sure if i’ll shoot for this.

this next stage feels like the safest bet but it still looks pretty odd to me. going to take a little getting used to. i suppose it is a good thing that it’ll take a while to grow.

i can’t do this next one. it’s just too much. becky couldn’t even look at me.

the final stage. clean. ready to start movember. wish me luck. i may have to stay away from mirrors for a while.

Well, seeing you without a beard is a bit of a change but of all the pictures I think you look best in the next to last – with just the above-the-lip mustache. In the last one you look like the little boy I remembered but, as you say, it will grow back. Did everyone go to a “fresh face” for this fund-raiser?
Are we still going to check out my computer some day or are you busy with new projects?
