family

a while back i got a bee in my bonnet (as my wife likes to put it) about family history. i’m lucky enough to have most of my grandparents and realized that i have this wealth of family knowledge that i need to tap into. so, i started going through a book that my maternal grandparents put together a while back. i’ve put much of that side of the family into genealogy software and saved it as a .ged file. i’ll post is here as i get further with it. in addition, i’m retyping the book so we can make it available to the whole family. right now it’s in handwritten form, a beautiful gift for all of their children. i think i may also try to record some of the stories in audio format as well but that will come later. for now i have to work on my paternal side of the family a bit too.
in addition to the genealogy project, i’ve just been more into seeing family. so i’ll be working on putting together an email list for when we’re having parties or going out for a drink at the pub (and yes, we’ll be trying to get the family to come on over to st paul . . . don’t know why y’all had to move out west and north).
so, as i get further along, i’ll be posting the full text to my grandparents book in addition to stories as they come in from all members of the family.
